My family can't get enough of these when I make them. They are a great side dish to go along with any weeknight dinner and a perfect appetizer to serve on game day as well. For a less spicy pepper, ensure all the seeds are removed! Enjoy :)
Directions
Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 fresh jalapeño peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 12 slices of bacon
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for added heat
- Toothpicks (if needed)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Jalapeños: Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes (use gloves to avoid irritation).
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and any optional spices for extra heat. Mix until well combined.
- Fill the Jalapeños: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously.
- Wrap with Bacon: Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap a half slice of bacon around each filled jalapeño, securing it with a toothpick if needed.
- Bake: Place the bacon-wrapped jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers warm as an appetizer or snack!
